Welcome to Our AKC CGC Program!

At Dream Dogs Texas, we are proud to offer AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluations and training classes to help your dog become a well-mannered member of the community. Our certified evaluator is here to guide you through the process, ensuring your dog meets the AKC's high standards for good citizenship.

What is AKC CGC?

The AKC Canine Good Citizen program is designed to reward dogs that have good manners at home and in the community. It includes a 10-step test that evaluates your dog's behavior in various situations, such as accepting a friendly stranger, walking on a loose leash, and remaining calm during distractions.

We offer comprehensive CGC preparation classes to help your dog succeed. These classes cover all 10 test items, including:

  • Accepting a friendly stranger

  • Sitting politely for petting

  • Appearance and grooming

  • Walking on a loose leash

  • Walking through a crowd

  • Sit and down on command

  • Coming when called

  • Reaction to another dog

  • Reaction to distraction

  • Supervised separation
